Spectacular mane-swirling and a powerful lion dance

One of Kabuki’s most iconic spectacles. Inspired by the Nō classic Shakkyō, mystical lion spirits with striking kumadori makeup appear on a sacred mountain to perform a powerful, dazzling dance among blooming peonies. Accompanied by vibrant live music, the performance ends with a spectacular display of swirling lion's manes.
