However, during the Academy tryouts, he finds himself up against players just as talented as he is—most notably Diego, whose instinctive and selfless style of play shakes his confidence. Beneath Maxime’s self-assurance lies a deep vulnerability: that of a young boy who no longer knows who he is if he isn't the best.
