Biography

Fátima de los Santos holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication, graduating with highest honors.

She quickly specialized in editing and began her career assembling documentaries at the production company La Claqueta, including the Goya Award-nominated films "Nacido en Siria" (Platino Award) and "The Resurrection Club."

In fiction, she started by editing the feature films "Animas" and "522, un gato, un chino y mi padre" (ASECAN Award for Best Editing). For streaming platforms, she participated in the editing of the second season of "La Peste" (Movistar+) and edited the documentary "Fernando Torres: el último símbolo" (Amazon Prime). Later, she combined her editing work with screenwriting on the documentary series "El Estado contra Pablo Ibar" (HBO) and "¿Dónde está Marta?" (Netflix) (Iris Jury Prize).

In 2023, she edited the feature films "Mamacruz" (Official Selection at Sundance and Seminci), for which she won the Carmen Award from the Andalusian Film Academy and was nominated for a Goya Award for Best Editing, and "La mujer dormida" (Special Mention, Contemporary Visions, Iberoamerican Film Festival of Miami 2024).

That same year, she collaborated as an additional editor on the documentary "Gaucho Gaucho" (Official Selection at Sundance) and edited the series "En Fin" (Amazon Prime). She is currently working on the editing of a documentary about the sale of Girl Scout cookies in the United States.
