Tim Riedel is a Red River Métis filmmaker from Treaty 1 territory in Canada. His credits include the award-winning documentary Jackstones and the psychological horror feature Ancestral Beasts. Riedel began his career in animation, writing on one of Canada’s first 3D television series Eddy Unleashed, later becoming a director and showrunner. He transitioned into documentary filmmaking before returning to narrative work based on the modern Indigenous experience. Playback Magazine named him one of their 10 to Watch for 2025.
